Default Farmoor

Sorry to ask again. I've booked a boat for this Saturday (1st visit to Farmoor), but the weather is cloudless all day and baking hot. Is it worth going? Does Famoor switch off like most waters? If so I might just cancel.

Thanks

Default Farmoor in the sun

I would go! - 2 reasons:

1. A day's fishing is a day's fishing, not necessarily a day's catching.

2. I went to Farmoor last year in early July with a mate for a day in a boat - the sun shone all day - he got 7, I got 5.

Have fun!

Your first point is true Dave, but unfortunately I'm having such a poor season, I need a confidence boosting cloudy and windless day! I'll assess the weather and see!

I would go but keep your best efforts for the last few hours of the day as this is normaly when Farmoor wakes up.
Fish with a drouge on the drift as you will cover more fish.
Make sure you get some advice from the wardens as they tend to be on the money and steer well clear of grumpy old men who fish boobies all year round.
And keep smiling as it will all come right in the end
Peter

Fair call - confidence is a fragile thing!
