Default Felix Farm today

The water was boiling with fish but only 3 had been taken up until I left at 6pm
I was fortunate to get 2 of them, 1 @ 2lb, the other just under 2lb.
Both fish were hard fighting and in lovely condition.
First one came on the middle dropper to a daiwl bach, second on a dawson,s olive.
Lost a cracker, never saw it, only half my point hook came back.
Met up with Dave (kayak flyfisher), he,s baliffing the farm for a couple of weeks. Smashing guy and very helpful.

Ron.

Hi Ron,

Nice to see some fish being caught at Felix. I've enjoyed fishing there over the years. Recent posts indicate it has been difficult, which in my eye makes you want to go back for more. Just curious, you mentioned middle dropper. Have they relalaxed the rules? Always thought it was a single fly only fishery. Hope they have. Nothing like fishing a team of buzzers.

Cheers

PS. Hope I don't get you in trouble. Just curious.

God, I hope so too! Last couple of times I went there the only fish I had were on a team of two buzzers! Can't say I saw anything about single fly only, but I am near blind sometimes! Perhaps Dave can enlighten us?

Chris

Hi Monaghan,

I asked Dave about it and yes its single fly only...oops.
I honestly didnt know.
Its the only time i,ve actually used more than one fly as I find this water fishes best with lures fished really deep.
Nearly all the fish I,ve taken out of this water were with a Dawson,s Olive.

Cheers Ron.

Ron,

The single fly rule seems a little out of date in my opinion. Maybe if enough anglers enquire about it, Felix might relax the rule.

Hi all on the back of the ticket issued to all fishers it states clearly no teams not my rules but company rules.
