Yes, it would seem we are finally just about thawed out entirely thanks to a long needed wee breeze.
So as of January 31st, we are open for fishng 9am - 4:30pm!

The Tarn is finally open for some Fly Fishing. Almost ALL of the ice is gone and so far it's fishing superb!. As expected the normally gin clear waters is a bit coloured up after such a long freeze.. Best flies so far today have been apts blood worm, the ministers flea, black rabbits and millenium bugs and that's just this morning so far, already accounting for double figured quantities of some fine fish!

The Tarn is now TOTALLY ice free. Yee ha!.. However the Bait pool is still largely frozen over due to it being so sheltered from the wee wind.. The fishing this afternoon proved to be as good as it was earlier in the morning, although tactics varied a little, changing to the bung method at times as the wind picked up! I've been told off & warned not to tell what flies are doing best as they were accounting for upwards of 16 fish today, the luckiest, ah hem, I mean most skilled, landed 25 today and they are fishing the home leg of the long running Winter League match here this weekend!.. lol..

Fishing times tomorrow & the rest of the week is 9am - 4:30pm.
