Default Draycote Hows it fishing?

A bunch of us are fishing Draycote Thursday (31st May). I have never fished there myself, just wandering how it is doing any certain patterns and areas fishing well? If anyone is heading there this week coming I'd be interested if you let me know how you got on.

Cheers all

A friend of mine fished there Saturday and was caught his limit on a claret hopper with quill spiders on the droppers. He was fishing from a boat in the Cornfields area and also picked up a couple in Biggin anchored about 70 yards out . The wind was northerly. Can't tell you much more I'm afraid.

been for the first time this year this afternoon. Managed 7 fish in the same area or there abouts as Midlander describes above, I think alot struggled in the bright warm conditions only saw one bank angler catch a single fish, though most of the boats in my eye shot did get some action. Black buzzer and grhe did the job for me, floating line and just kept "in touch" with em.

Enjoyable afternoon..

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I fished Draycote on Saturday and then Llyn Brenig on Sunday as a NW CEFF heat. Brenig was rough, really cold and exhausting and I needed to warm up and recover afterwards.
From my notes: This year the match had been brought forward from the summer, and what a difference this made, and at one point in the afternoon fish were rising ALL over the lake and there were no boils on to congregate the fish. Trout were hard on buzzer and daphnia near to the surface and nymphs or lures were successful patterns. I caught on olive buzzer and goldhead cats whisker and orange fritz. When hooked the trout were in tip top condition and fought really hard with their heads kept pointing down.

I ended on 7 and my boat partner on 6 but lost loads around Lyn croft and Biggin bays. 10 fished with 3 limits and a rod average of 4.8.

Keith, in lodge was helpful, and put us on the buzzer & lures.
Hope you had a good day, Neil.

Oops. Forgot to mention that most of the fish came from Toft Shallows and Rainbow Corner. Diawl Bach's, black buzzers on midge tips, floaters was the best method.
