Sorry I didn't get back to you. I fished Draycote on Saturday and then Llyn Brenig on Sunday as a NW CEFF heat. Brenig was rough, really cold and exhausting and I needed to warm up and recover afterwards.
From my notes: This year the match had been brought forward from the summer, and what a difference this made, and at one point in the afternoon fish were rising ALL over the lake and there were no boils on to congregate the fish. Trout were hard on buzzer and daphnia near to the surface and nymphs or lures were successful patterns. I caught on olive buzzer and goldhead cats whisker and orange fritz. When hooked the trout were in tip top condition and fought really hard with their heads kept pointing down.
I ended on 7 and my boat partner on 6 but lost loads around Lyn croft and Biggin bays. 10 fished with 3 limits and a rod average of 4.8.
Keith, in lodge was helpful, and put us on the buzzer & lures.
Hope you had a good day, Neil.
