Default Santhill

A party of 5 if us went there on weds. it was my second visit in 2 years, I must asmit to being rather dissapointed, alright the weather was very hot and almost cloudless. There were a few flies hatching but not what we were hoping for. The water seemed to be a trifle algal stained compared to my previous visit. Lets face it conditions were difficult. Okay last time it was overcast, we had a boat, and there was a reasonable mayly hatch. Last time the 2 of us had 10 fish and they were spectacular, all 2 1/2lb. plus, scale perfect and "towed the boat around", The 7 fish between 5 of us including a blank for a beginner were all around 1 1/2lb. and not of the same calibre, in fact I was dissapointed with them. Yes the banks had just been cut and they were immaculate, as was the new boat house come lodge, although a microwave seemed to be absent. Perhaps it was me but I didn't notice a fridge either. I have mixed feelings about a return visit until I read of better quality fish though.
