Tadpoles in Welsh Dee
Gents, new member ,1st posting.Had a fishing trip planned with my brother a few weeks ago at the end of the abnormally dry April, didnt fancy being baked at Brenig ,so decided to have a day on the Langollen anglers stretch of the Dee,above the horseshoe falls.Wonderful day, fantastic scenery and wildlife, only caught small trout and grayling still great sport. The thing that amazed me was ,when fishing one of the pools ,virtually opposite the parking area ,in the slack water where the foam/froth collects, were thousands of tadpoles!!!!Is this a normal phenomm..enn...umm.... thing?I'm not a regular river angler these days but even in my youth [a very long tme ago ],I can't remember seeing them in any of the main river systems I fished then.Global warming? or just the result of a very dry spring, also,do the the fish feed on them?I had stupidly left all my tadpole patterns at home.ps I'm still in shock after landing that double figure brown trout for my boat partner at Talyllyn-as posted by 'Ephemera' DJ
