Fishing the lake Monday 21st May, would appreciate any hints/ help as still new to the game and have blanked on too many occassions when fishing Menteith.

Would love a day that I actually catch a fish. Look forward to hearing from anyone willing to help.

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum.

I would suggest that you have a look on the Lake of Menteith web page for reports. Also speak to the other anglers and staff to find out areas holding fish etc.

Half the battle is location. Then, once you find them, well thats a different story!

Depends a lot on conditions. If the forecast gales die out by Monday, it should be top of the water fishing. Ask the boatman for the best areas and dries to use. He is remarkably honest in his advice (unlike some fishery managers!!)

Thanks for the tips, hard days fishing but enjoyable. Managed one which took Menteith Comorant on intermediate line.
