Glenquicken update
With the break in the long warm spell with no rain the loch has came alive in
the last couple of weeks with prolific hatches of sedge and gnats the trout
must have been waiting for this surface fly bonanza as we have recorded some
of the best cartches ever in the past two weeks all on dry fly,
Hector one of the regulars has had three seperate days with catches well into
double figures, Cookie has had two great evenings on small dry flies and all
the anglers here last weekend were on dries and had a great time.
It is great to be able to see bright silver well made overwintered trout
coming to the net in great condition and with the rising temperatures and the
light rain we are expecting the "mayfly hatch to be with us in the coming
days.
