Closed the office last night leaving only 6 pegs remaining unfishable due to the solid ice. Woke up this morning with barely 6 pegs still clear of ice

thanks to the unpredicted sub zero conditions. Happy days!..

Never mind, as the day warmed and with a bit of work, larger areas were clearing up throughout the day! As of tonight, only the very top end is still iced over, taking out 8 pegs. So with the weather remaining unpredicatable, I'll post daily up dates both here and on the Allandale web site as to conditions on the day!..
The Bait is presently still iced over!
Only Fly fishing available 9am - 4:30pm!
Finger crossed for the weekend folks!..
As for what's catching :
The icey sheltered side of the Tarn was definetly hard fishing today, but saw a few fish getting caught more later in the afternoon when it eventually got milder. However the 'sunny side' was fishing superb on & off, with even the occassional fish rising. At least 2 guys considered trying to temp the fish to a dry, but thought better of it in the end as their arses welded to the frozen seats. lol!... Best flies today were by far the old slim Hot Head Shellback Damsel or a cast of Buzzers, both methods accounting for quantitys into double figures for a couple of anglers. These worked througout the day and then the black Rabbit just off the ice sheet got one chap several feisty beasties later in the afternoon!.. For Buzzers & nymphs it was an intermediate line day, for heavier lures it seems worth while staying on the floater.
Tight lines wherever you wet a line this season!
