Default Heathcote & Packington fisheries

Evening all,

Looking for a different venue for this weekend and wondered if anyone has fished either of these venues?

I fished Packington along time ago and remember that it had a really nice feature packed lake but the fish weren't the best.

Never fished Heathcote at all, heard good things but the lake looks pretty dull. Do they allow catch & release there?

Which venue would you wonderfull people recomend and if anyone has any other suggestions, i would love to hear them.

Thanks

I havent fished Packington for a few years but when I did it was a perfectly reasonable fishery, on some days and off on others. Fish from memory reasonable quality. Quite a 'regular' type of clientele.
Heathcote Lakes in my mind is still a bit immature as a fishery and still a bit of a pair of muddy ponds. Mrs. G and self fished the lower lake about 6 months ago and it was ridiculously easy. Fish where very 'C List' stockies. Not sure how the top lake is getting on. I seem to recall that they were having a spot of bother with it a few years ago. They offer a C&R ticket on the top lake.
I'd say that the extra 40 mins drive to Blenheim would be a better option than either.

Thanks Andy,

I've heard good things about Blenheim.....love the idea of the running water. Might well give that a try.

Just looked at their website.......not cheap with a day ticket costing £35!
