No ice? It's bloody freezing

With all the hard work that has been put in this week to clear and keep clear the ice on the main castle pool, we are glad to advise even after the recent snow we have been able to open for fishing on sat 8th jan 2011.

despite being closed for weeks, our opening proved to be very productive for the anglers who made the trip. stevie whitehead from midlothian had a bag of 3 for 18lbs and released another 13 using mini cats, viva fished on intermediate line

This is the second day weve managed to get open and for the anglers who did come , what a days fishing it has been. They are remarking about the quality and the strenth of the fish considering the recent weather conditions. Today it was mostly lures that were successful such as mini cats, viva, zonkers and no mads. Fish are stripping anglers right down to there backing, well know angler and magazine writer Stewart Fraser returned today after sampling some of the fishing yesterday.
