Smile ButterStone

Evening lads and the occasional lady. Im on Butterstone with the club this coming Sunday and was just wondering how it has been fishing? Areas, tactics, flies, lines etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much....Martin

Hi, Martin

Was at Butterstone today - good fun - and a lovely place. I got 6 fish and returned a couple. Cormorants did the most damage, with one on a black and green booby. Others were catching on damsels, bibios, - a real mixture. I fished the washing line most of the day on a clear tip line, others did well on floaters and intermediates. Most fish were caught in the bay to the right of the boat dock (as you look out), but there were reports of fish around the loch. The guy there is really helpful - ask him for any more details before you go out.

Good luck.

Default QUALiTY :)

Evening lads

Went to Buterstone today and one thing i must mention is a lovely place and very very well run fishery.

Started off right up the top and after an hour the boat partner Kenny Miller said he didnt think the engine would last all day tut tut. but it did thankfully.
So we moved down the the road shore/reeds and took countless fish all getting off at the net then about 11 oclock i had 3 and he had 3 then the next 15 minutes were hectic i got my fourth fish on the just as i was about to slip the net....twang...the tip section of the LOCHMOR snapped out came the trust old airflo and away i went again another 2 trout came to the net...Finished the day with 5 fish for 9lb 7ozs...Only thing im saying is i will definetly be going back...Superb fishery.

Their about average, 2 - 2.5lb but excellent conditioned and put up a good account of themselves. Superb fishery.
