Post linlithgow loch

hi,
just thought i'd give a report on saturdays trip to linlithgow.
earlier reports showed that it was fishing really well, with buzzers being first choice, so thats what we fished!
a brisk east wind stayed with us all day with white horses topping the waves.
having no engines on the boats it was a hard slog for my boat partner who insisted in rowing all day.
2 hrs in north shore and town town bay produced not a touch.
eventually we resorted to lures and managed to get 4 fish in the boat.
found the fish just south of pink buoys. they seemed to be in a narrow line. If you were over them you were in luck If you werent then you'd had it.
quite a few blanks in the club and a few bag limits!!
got 2 on hothead damsel and 1 on diawl bach, boat partner got 1 on goldhead damsel.
fish were in excellent condition and fought realy hard.
disappointed in that it was a 4 o'clock finish, youd think that with the evening sessions not starting yet, they could have let us fish at least till 5.

Hi,

Worth also pointing out there were tons of large buzzers in the water but the fish weren't coming up for them. Think the chilly wind was keeping them deep...don't think we saw a single rise all day !

Just to summarise Huk's report - I think we were total 43 fish for 10 boats for a total of 71lbs. (with a few guys on bag limits early switching to C&R)..biggest fish was 4lb2oz (Huk !)...

Definately the best fighting fish we've encountered for a looong time....superb condition.

Huk, Stevio, CLub had 46 fish for 143lb,thats a tremendous average weight of over 3lb i think most people were fishing their buzzers far to quickly .the fish we spooned were stuffed full of buzzers and bloodworm, they were feeding on the buzzers alright but about 6 feet down thats why you didnt see any risers.

I`m a big fan of the lake of menteith fish but the fish at linlithgow at the moment are supberb, i`ve not had a days buzzer fishing like that since fishing Rutland and Pitsford

Thanks for the correction !
Must admit I was suprised that there were that many buzzers and little or no surface activity - should maybe have switched back to buzzers once it warmed up a bit.
I'll lay the blame for our poor strategy fair and squarely at my boat partner who made me row all day...and who's judgement was undoubtedly influenced by the questionable quality raffle prizes on the way there.
