A chilly, overcast, breezy miserable sort of day.
Started towards far end of main lake where some fishe were showing quite close in.Tried buzzer without any interest but a damsel soon had one on the bank.Continued in the general area as fish were still showing, but nothing save a few looks on egg fly.
Moved onto small lake and again buzzer were a dead loss, damsel also and egg fly got the odd look.A black and gold straggle cats took one straight away then another followed quickly.
Had some lunch and a drink and walked back up to small lake thinking i would take a quick fish and get off

.Nothing,zilch not a look

Went back onto main lake still at far end but opposite bank near the inflow.Found a pod of decent fish.but again, buzzer, damsel, egg and cats wre refused.Put on a hopper and pulled it fairly fast subsurface and had a violent take which broke my leader

.Re tied another and had some looks and follows so kept with it.
Had another really hard take and a fish headed off to the horizon

.After a spirited fight i banked a fish of just uner 5lb.
That fish was covered in lice,in fact never seen so many on one fish

,didn't make any odds to its condition or fighting qualities however. The other fish were clean!!!!.
Packed up on that fish with plenty of reasonable fish moving still.
The Drummond arms in Albury will purchase any fish not required(don't know what the rate is) or you can have refreshments
