Hope you read this before you go.
Fished F2 on Friday with a collegue, shared a boat and went to the 6 marker.
We were both bagged up in 3 hours.
The bank was fishing the same all the way round the corner from the 6 to the life belt on the East bank Guys were hoyking them out.
Black buzzers on a midge tip was the bank method. Cast as far out and let the line drift round with the wind (westerly wind).
We started on the washing line using buzzers and DB with a white cats wisker booby on the point. They were chasing the booby all over the top when things changed they went down slightly so changed to a tequila blob.
At the moment fishing its bollox off dare say you could use a daddy if you wanted to.
Any more tips ask Royston and his crew they will give you all the pointers if things have changed.

Enjoy and tite lines
Andy Mac

If there is a better stillwater in the country at the moment then i'd be surprised......Fished farmoor 2.

What a day! We caught fish after fish all day long........some close in......some far out......some on the booby.......some on nymphs straightlined........some on a leaded blob under the bung!!!

We caught fresh stockies and some cracking lean fish that had clearly been in for quite some time......reckon the average weight was over 2.5lb. It was that good that even my old man caught a few!!!

Brilliant day and well worth the long drive......i'll be back!!!

Thanks fo the advise Brundlefly.......didn't see it befoe i left but appreciated all the same....

Chickenfish,

Glad to hear you had a great day and F2 fished so well for you.
The rangers have worked hard to get the reservoir to what it is now, and as you now know its one, if not the best fishing spots in the country, with some of the best fighting/eating fish there is....

I'm going to head up to F2 in the morning, sounds as though it's going to be bloody cold, so I'm assuming it's Di7 and a booby weather? Any tips gratefully recieved.

Cheers. John

Was there today........great fishing yet again.

Caught everything on booby......never had a take on any other method. There were alot of fish at the far end of the casueway........i fished about 50yrds along the causeway away from the far corner. Wind was blowing off, and slightly left to right, the causeway and casting a long line was a doddle.

I also found alot of fish on the downwind bank.......difficult to describe exactly where but pretty much directly opposite the entrance to the site........on the far bank......hope that makes sense.... This is definately where where i found the most fish. I had pulls and taps on virtually every cast. Only fished there for about an hour because i had to leave the area to go and check on my Dad. Unfortunatley a chap had a stroke on the bank next to my old man and was taken away in an ambulance..... If anyone knows the chap, please pass on my and my Dads best wishes.

The fish were fantastic and i had 2 over 4lb. I had a black & pearl booby on the dropper about 2ft from the fly line and an orange booby 10ft away from the dropper. Caught on both.

Good luck and let us all know how you get on.

Fished F1 yesterday morning. Fished into the breeze on west bank for first couple of hours and had 3 on black/green fritz twitched slowly back, fish took close in and 3rd fish was bang on 6lb and empty 30yds of backing off my reel on its first run. Moved round to north bank and had two more fishing by water pump/pipe, 10-12lb brown cruising up and down 10ft out, wound me right up. Walking back to car stopped at corner near causeway and had 3 fish in 10 minutes on #12 GH orange blob chucked 10 yards out and twirched back.

4 other guys out in the cold. Would have fished longer but no bacon/sausage rolls on offer this week so got cold and hungry quickly.

Well, got there at 9, first fish at about 9.30 on a minky booby fish 5ft off the bottom - moderate retrieve, at about 3lbs. Caught another one about 30mins later, same fly/method, about 4lbs this time. Things went quiet for an hour, so put a orange booby on a dropper about 2ft up, caught another three on it in the space of an hour. Last fish came just before 1pm on the minky again.

All in, 16lbs in 6 fish.

Fishing by the car park on the opposite side to the lodge, didn't move, didn't have to.

Cheers. J
