Hi Welshy,
Llys y fran can be pretty inscrutable unless you fish it regularly, unfortunately I don't!
I fished in a club comp on the 16th but it was hard going. Some fish to nymphs, some to lures on floating line, some to Hi d's blobs and boobies but nothing consistent. The fish we had were from by the bird hut and in the short arm, my best advice would be to try down the end of the long arm to kick off and ring the changes. Not many of us bagged up, two guys did well on bibios and floaters, worth thinking about.
It looked like it was hard going yesterday, I popped up for a blank couple of hours from the bank and I didn't see one fish move, I nipped off early. The guy who'd fished the open that I talked to said it had been a bit of a struggle, he'd had three fish for the day.

Thanks for that D.B, i know what you mean by the bird hut. but dont with regards to the short arm and long arm, if you could explain these it would be brilliant. thanks again,
welshy

Hi Welshy ,

Fished there last sunday from the bank five of us fished with only 2 fish caught to boobies and they were smaller than my goldfish in the pond both fish only totalled 1.5lb. I seen a few fish caught by the wormers , but they dont count i cant understand course fishermen who course fish for trout if you cant cast a fly then stick to your roach and perch thats my opinion. The wind was pretty bad which made casting difficult if you are fishing on the bank and be prepared for a bit of a walk if you want to explore the shoreline so wear some comfy dry shoes.
The fish we caught were if you walked through the play area and followed the path for about 200yds you will see a narrow bay in front of you surrounded by trees. If you look to the point you will see a bench close to the water with a large rock in front of it. Cast out in front of you and you should get some results. The wind when we were there was blowing straight up from the damn wall . Hope this helps

regards

Darren

The bird hut's actually in the long arm, the short arm is the one on your left as you leave the boathouse.
