I had the pleasure of fishing this venue yesterday the 13th Oct.
Bit tricky to find, but what a pretty spot once you've found it! 2 lakes, 1 quite coloured the other crystal clear; I fished the murky one.
This was a last minute visit and having been told it closed at 4.30, arrived at 1.30 and bought a 2 fish ticket for 21 quid (NO c and r). As it turned out, it could have closed at 2.45. Fish number 1 was caught on a floating daddy after 15 minutes, stroll around the lakes with my dogs who were waiting in the car, and then fish number 2 was caught on a floating sedge after another 15 minutes fishing.
So, for you good anglers out there looking for a stern challenge, probably not for you, and on the day it was too simple even for me, but the fish were terrific quality! Both well above 3 lbs, in great nick and gave as good a pull as I have ever had.
Very friendly and helpful bailiff and same for a couple of locals I was chatting to. This, together with a lovely part of the world, I'm glad I stopped by, and if in the area would very happily have another go.
Regards to you all,
Del.

This is a great little fishery. Worth the effort to find, the bigger of the two lakes reputedly has a stock of brownies as well as rainbows. Pike and some other coarse fish in the bigger water, too,

Bailiff and locals very friendly, think from November through to March it may only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. If you put the "right" fly on, can be very easy to catch, especially from the smaller lake.

£21 for two fish is very reasonable for this neck of the woods. And they pull REALLY well - set your drag, and keep your hand away from your reel. Not quite down to the backing but near as dammit.
