The Shannon Region weekly email reports that the first mayfly have been seen on Lough Derg. Derg is the earliest of the "mayfly" lakes but this is very early indeed.

I saw quite a few Mayfly last Sunday on Lough Erne ,although the normal hatch doesnt get under way for another 3-4 weeks normally.
