Default Willowgate Fishery - Perth

Willowgate is fishing really well at the moment with a lot of fish in the 6-8 pound bracket coming off as well as a few doubles.

Booking is advisable for the weekends as we have had over 60 anglers over Saturday/Sunday for the last few weeks.

On Saturday 09th, regular Frank Armstrong had 12 on a catch & release ticket including a Rainbow of around 12lbs and a Blue of around 8lbs. First time visitor Darrel Young from Edinburgh also had 12 fish and weighed in 4 for 16.5lbs including Rainbows of 7lbs and 5lbs. Darrel also caught and released a double figure Rainbow after he had his four fish limit.

On Sunday 10th, conditions were slightly harder with much cooler temperatures but a number of anglers managed double figure catches. The McDevitt brothers weighed in 3 for 15lb including this 8.5lb Rainbow.

The fish are very high in the water and can regularly be seen chasing fry. Small nymphs (buzzers, crunchers, diawl bachs) are producing the goods and there is still some dry fly sport to be had when the conditions are right. The bung and blob method is still a good bet and a suspender minkie is worth a go for the fry feeders.

As always, Willowgate is a child-friendly venue so if you are looking for something to keep the kids occupied during the school holidays, pay us a visit. This is my daughter getting in on the action.

Tight Lines, Martin

you have differently been popular since your opening , not heard 1 bad comment about you , apart from weed but hey you can't keep everyone happy and i personally like to see a bit of weed now an then as it all helps with feed etc.
not had the pleasure in checking your fishery out as yet , even though i am only down the road. just transport to you is a problem for me.

hope to wet a line eventually.

James.
