Damsels, both dry and nymph also the same for mayflies, take some overweighted Dick Walkers ones! John

Damsels have allways been effective when ive been there, If you like stalking your fish a good spot allways good is just across the rope bridge thingy to the left of it.

i was down there last friday to see numerous daddies coming of, the fish were taking them, lost a fish at about 25 yards that was easy high teens maybee low 20's long distance dry fly fishing on light rods never the best combination!

Just got back from Lechlade.. First impressions I'm afraid poor. Adivce in the shop "nymphs or lures" Very helpful!!

Toilet in the shop was disgusting and parking chaotic.

There was a "party" of twelve blokes who were more interested in shouting across the lake at each other rather than fishing that really didn't help the day.

In my opininon there were too many people there although I was told that it was only 70% capacity I reckon everyone would be fishing shoulder to should at capacity as there was liitle or no choice to change swims by 10:00!!

The fishing, was very hard, very hot and sunny, I suspect that the rod average for the day was about one or less. One chap bagged up after 5 hours or so (4), my partner and I blanked. I am not the best fisherman in the world but I do normally winkle one or two out on a trip (I did actually lose one )

Plenty of big fish in the lake and from what I saw of what was caught the weights were better than Dever or Avington.

Would I go again? not sure, this was an exceptionally hot day for April and maybe if the place was quieter it would be more pleasant. A very long drive for a blank!

Better than working though!!

next time ianoverton try the other lake bushleaze that lake has smaller fish but they fight for a long time and the lake is bigger and more quieter i think. if you do decide to go up to bushleaze one weekend i could come up and go fishing with you and your friend if you like
