NeilH and I were washed off the Derbyshire Wye today. We asked about any still water fishery nearby and were directed to Press Manor, about 20mins. away.

What a delightful fishery it is. Run by Bernie Maher, who guides on the Peacock Water, it is really well cared for and appears to contain plenty of fish.

I say "appears". Neil and I weren't really tooled up for Still Water so struggled a bit but others were catching.

Lovely surroundings and a friendly atmosphere. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a Still Water in the Derbyshire Peaks.

If you are stuck for somewhere to fish on a stillwater in Derbyshire, try the Orvis outlet in Bakewell. A guy named Andy in the shop will point you in the right direction, he has his finger on the pulse locally.

Yup, I agree, if I stuck a thumb up Andy's ass he could tell me which hand, smart guy and the reason why he has such a good job with Orvis, however not the point of Roy's post.

Bernie is a true gent and keep's a nice fishery.
