Anyone fished Lawfield recently? Due down on Friday afternoon with some of the guys from the office and just wondering how it's fishing and what flies to use?

It has been fishing really well with big hatches of olives keeping the fish on top. The best flies have been- olive wets, olive shuttlecocks, hares ear, diawl bach, olive sedgehog and red head damsels. The bin peg, in front of the hut and the island have been some of the hot spots.

Default Wee stuff at lawfield

Up last Friday and got best response to wets..size 14 coch y bonddu in particular, just below surface.

That's the usual story with Lawfield...small buzzers, nymphs, wets. Never really found it a lure water.

I was down yesterday with clients. Stevie Banks had around 19 on a hares ear and the smallest montana nymph I have ever seen. He is one of the best fly tyers I have met. As for Lawfield being a lure water- utter tosh

Not suggesting lures don't or won't work there. It's more that Lawfield is a water where the small stuff tends to work really well and that's too good an opportunity to ignore.
