Default Mill farm

I have some work to do after Easter down south and was wondering what Mill farm had to offer , is the owner still "miserable" , which I gather from past postings . I see that there was no replies about Manningford .

With regard to Mill farm, it is still owned and run by Bill Coleman and as far as I know the fish still taste very muddy and no C&R ticket available.

I have not fished Manningford for several months, but found the fish size and quality at least as good as before. The once a week stocking probably increases the challenge a little, but on the plus side the fish are better finned and still eat well. They were offering some brown trout fishing on the upper ponds last year so worth checking for a C&R option there.

Around the same area you have a huge range of fisheries and reservoirs. My vote for best in the area still goes to Avon Springs, but give it a miss during June, July and August.

Maningford is about to close for draining. I would suggest phoning before trying. I find Bill ok, he is not as dour as he looks and the Mill Farm lakes have their moments. The Avon Springs fish are excellent but I do not like the main lake, I find it a bit featureless. Horse for courses I suppose.

Manningford was closed , I am sure last year for "dredging" . Surely this is the wrong time of year to do such a thing.

I've no idea. A friend of mine fished it last week and was told it was being drained this week and would re-open in May. Please do not rely on my memory I would suggest phoning before you go.

Not sure if you are still asking, I went to Mill Farm today and took 2 fish. It has been a while since I have been and the kingfisher Lake was very busy. However, plenty of fish came out and were finned and hard fighting.
