Apologies for slight deviation into RSPB territory, but this is interesting stuff. So it was definitely a nuthatch then, as it was definitely engaged in extreme kamikaze activity - headfirst top speed down a beech, next stop the stream bottom.
I reckon he'll do ok when the drakes start flying about too.
thanks

Default Norbury Weir

Anyone know of any outcome about the proposed fish pass at Norbury Wier?
There was a meeting Monday night at Burton on Trent.

Default Lucky *******o

I'm starting to feel lucky for a change as my visit to BB on Sunday was pure magic, they were rising everywhere and swallowing my white drake similar to the way I eat a Kentucky bucket .

You must remember to pray before you go to sleep gentlemen, especially the night before fishing.

Did I mention there is confirmed sightings of a water vole on Bentley Brook?

Trugg - I always preffered Lords Bridge - the churnet is a sod to get in and out of and it's easier there. They are only five mins apart though and you can probably do both.

Rob prefers eastwall - interesting sights there - dead foxes on the bridge and take some bread and throw it into that pool. You will be frustrated that you can't fish it within about 2 mins of seeing the monsters.

Default Dovedale

Fished Dovedale yesterday for a few hours. There was a cool easterly wind blowing and the water fairly cold for the time of year. Despite this fish were rising all through the dale largely to hawthorns, other terrestrials and around 3pm to Mayfly. The Mayfly hatch hasn't really started proper but fish were taking the odd dun or emerger. Good few fish taken on hawthorn imitations, cdc & elk and emerging Mayfly patterns.
