Just the one? Look's like a quiet section on the Forum this season then.

Books on the way apparently. The river was looking pretty good at the 2 March work party.

I think Pond321 (when he gets back from African fishing adventure) is joining and also I think Jayp is too. Ben and I have joined the farnham angling course section to fish the river there with the fly. Went out on a stretch of the wey near frensham and started the season well with a trout of 11inches on the GHN tied NZ style off a dry. It's actually good to be on a more challenging and unfamiliar stretch of river as you can get complacent when you always go to dead cert corner.

That said, I'm sure I'll miss the whitewater - especially as I'm working 5 mins from it!

I too have left the Whitewater as there is more than enough free local water to keep me busy on when I am not on the S&DAC's rivers.

Default First outing

Nice day out on Thursday - 9 trout to christen the new flea, the best a wildie of 1.5 lb which was the only one to take a dry, that take being the only rise I saw all day. 6 were stockies fresh from the tank and not much of a challenge! River in good shape compared to last summer tho' whether it stays that way....

Also had a go on the Loddon beat on Monday - nice water but didn't see any trout nor rises in a full day. Did manage a 4lb chubb blind nymphing a deep pool.

Nice to meet you Dave if you use the forum.

Mark

I have rejoined - it is so close to my house that I would be foolish not to.

Having just got back from Africa, this saturday will be my first day on the river.

Will be nice to swap the 12# for a 2# methinks

Cheers

Jon

The river is in lovelly nick! Went up today for a couple of hours. Managed 3 trout and a couple of small chub and lost 4 other small fish. 2 of the trout were little 6/7 inch wild fish - absolute jewells. One of the trout was a stocky but it was in good nick if it was one of this years. There was a big rise about 12.30 and it lasted for an hour. Took all my fish in that hour and a small brown jobby tied parachute style. It was the first outing of the new #2 rod and I already love it

Anyone else been up?
