I have just come back from a couple of hours fishing on this Dulverton angling association beat and had a lovely couple of hours on there.
This was the first trip out for me on the rivers this season and also my first trip out on DAA waters having joined this year for the princely some of £25 a year
The river was in great condition running slightly high but with nice clear water.
I started of witha small tungsten nymph under a adams para and my first fish of the day was a lovely brownie of 8-9" after around 20 min.
Wild brown trout must be the prettest fish out there.
I even managed to rise a fish but missed it in the shock
I fished up the beat and hook a couple more fish around 8-10" before hooking a beautiful grayling that was slipped back in as quickly as it was landed.
Having never fished this part of the river before it was great to discover what was around every bend.
On the last but on pool i fished i hooked in to the best fish of the day a super fat brownie of 13-14" that bored deep to get away and put up a great scrap on my 6ft 6" streamflex.
I had no more fish and called it a day after around two hours as a downstream wind got up.
If i had been there in the morning i'm sure i would have seem a couple of fish rise but it was great to get out there again.
