I was hoping the fish the river Amman at Ammanford at some point over the next week but can't find much info on it. Does anyone know how much it is for a day ticket? and what's that stretch like for the numbers and size of trout?

Have a look at the Ammanford & District Angling Association website - plenty of info & maps, or try Tight Lines in Wind Street.
Some good sewin & salmon have been, by all accounts, caught in Pontardulais waters, so they should be working up the Lougher to the Amman.

Thanks for the reply Wynne - I was thinking more for the trout fishing to be honest. Do you know what's it's like on the Annan? or failing that do you know of any good tribs up that way?

Presume you meant the Amman ?
The Lougher & Amman are pretty much self contained with the tibutaries running in being quite small.
Trout fishing quite good - as mentioned, have a word with Tight Lines.
The Cennen (North of Llandybie), running to the Towy is good, but you need to speak to local farmers re. fishing rights.
Hope you have some good sport.
