Default River Ribble

Down early morning to the Tickled Trout stretch, thought I'd try a couple of new sea trout flies from the Donegal fly company.

Straight into a 2 lb salmon, an hour later a smaller sea trout of 14oz.

Nothing else for the next 3 hours. Left around 11, another 8 people on the water one with a double handed rod. Didn't see anything else caught.

Not bad for a £4.00 day ticket. Off back in an hour.

You used to get the day ticket at the garage next to the Tickled Trout Hotel. as this has been bulldozed and is in rebuild, you get the ticket at the top of the hill at the other BP garage. £4.00. well worth the fee!

Maybe....if you don't mind fishing a featureless, semi-tidal, weed-choked, shrimp bashed, chav infested coarse river.

It's alright for you, living as you do on the banks of England's finest spate stream!

Parking pass is given with your permit and you park down by the hotel, or across the river on the quarry road. Free parking there & tend to be no idiots in this are

Went down first light this morning down the Shawes arms stretch. Very quiet morning, took a decent chub to a Bibio. No trout or Salmon seemed to be about
