The river just above Leyburn (Wensley to Redmire) is all private, I think. There is day ticket water at Aysgarth, but I am not sure where you get the tickets. Your caravan site would probably tell you.

The best bet (for fly fishing anyway) in my opinion would be upstream at Bainbridge, above and below the village, tickets from the Rose and Crown pub there or the village shop. You also get the delightful little River Bain on the ticket.

If you like small river fishing, the Cover can be great fun if conditions are right. You can get tickets from the Cover Bridge Inn, about a mile south of Middleham. A pint of real ale in the garden overlooking the river after a day's fishing is a particular treat!

If you're there for 10 days then the Bradford City book may be worthwhile. Water at Aysgarth & Worton Bridge and also on the Aire & Wharfe

Regards

Peter

Just to add to the above posts,

I don't know where you're stopping, but if its Bainbridge the Rose and Crown will sell you one,
if you are stopping at westholme they have fishing on site (small beck)

You can get day tickets to fish at aysgarth from the Palmer flatt hotel they also have a Caravan Club CL site (& do good meals)

& if your'e staying at the caravan clubs brown moor site, then you can get a ticket from the reception.

Paul
