Default Thanks but no thanks...

Is it just me... this section of the forum has just taken another bizarre twist. We have three rivers historically - though why? - allocated their own forums: Welsh Dee, Monnow, & Taff; presumably because they have historically attracted a fair bit of posting interest.

However, the LADFFA, Derbys Wye, Usk and one or two other equally as prominent threads have not been allocated their own boards But now the rivers Itchen & Test have been allocated their own boards despite having no history or community online The Test one has been stuck up by good old Troutatlas... that longstanding stalwart of the river boards Populated by pointless pictures of bridges which feature stretches of river of little practical interest to anyone who posts on these boards regularly.

What gives?

It's a manifestation of Babylon and its corruptiveness.

Could it be to give those, normally reticent, residents of Hampshire a bit of a nudge?

It is a bit strange, although it was interesting to see that in the view ds from the bridge at the top of Stockbridge, a fine piece of bank repair has stood the test of time following its construction by a bright, young fisheries student back in 1991...

I suspect it will die a death, there has never been much interest from that quarter when it comes to discussion boards. Shame really especially the Itchen, cracking river!

Absolute numpty idea. Surprised they didn't get there own section to go with all the other daft ones. This site is getting harder and less convenient to use virtually every week, but hey ho ,,,

Default I'll give you my .02 cents as this thread misses a valuable point.

Have I ever seen a drop of UK water? No, saving for flying over the UK on many occasions or a change of planes at Heathrow. Have I ever had the chance to fish any of your rivers/ponds/streams/resies? No, do I look forward to 'Atlas' Guy photos of your fishing places?

OH YA BABY!

But do I get to read your posts, dream, wonder how I might do? You betcha!!

You have to look beyond your local scope and have "dreams" of what might be.

Hmmm... I understand where you are coming from Freda but the purpose of the rivers boards is to act as a reference point for discussion and updates. I was trying to make the point that there is already some kind of arbitrary division with some well supported threads having their own sub-forums, and others not. To introduce two new sub-forums in the way that they have is pointless. Much as I hate all the myriad sections now, a thread with a load of pictures of bridges over a river belongs somewhere else surely?
