Default River Chelt - Fish kill

Caught this on the local news but have never seen any fishing reports so do not know if it affects any regulars here:

Pollutant kills dozens of fish in the River Chelt in Cheltenham|news| Thisisgloucestershire

The second river in less than a week! West Wales last week! And now Cheltenham!

Sad news! Hope it recovers very quickly!

Can anyone shed a little more light on this dreadful incident? Thereis nothing on the EA's website.

Default Sad

This is very sad news.

It sounds like the incident was an isolated one off and will not leave long term damage, but sad to hear of so many dead fish.

The Chelt is a lovely little stream, running right through the town and with a surprisingly good head of fish - lots in places where most people wouldn't even look.

Yup, just another poor little urban river that 99% of us - even fishermen! - hardly know is there until it's too late.

Thank **** for the WTT's Trout in the Town project is the most constructive (and least legally libellous) comment I'll allow myself... for now.
