Duster is on a distinguished road
Default Ambleside

Going to Ambleside next month for a weekend .....any recommendations of where to go ...and more importantly what are the fish taking them on ???

The River Rothay holds good stocks of Wild Brown trout, and one of the most productive stretches for me is between Grasmere and Rydal, parking can be found at White moss common (owned by National trust, make sure you bring some change with you, as the parking rates ain't generous!). There is also the River Brathay, however I've never fished it. Permits for the Rothay and Brathay can be purchased from the WADAA website.

I agree with dogbloke, I've never caught anything using a canoe on the leader.
