Enjoy the new season guys. I've rejoined this year and hoping I might get a chance to wet a line on the WW if business takes me down south on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

Fortunately I've found a cracking little stream in north Wales just under an hour from home that's very like the WW, with maybe just a touch more casting room and some really good sized grayling too (no electric fence or rampant bullocks). Season already open here, started on 3 March, and had two sessions on the river - 2 brownies, 2 grayling and a salmon smolt first time out on nymphs, and two brownies on a dry (really, a dry in March) on my second time out. Sweeeeet

I've also got into a club on the Welsh Dee for the silver tourists so fingers crossed for my first salmon.

Good stuff Cliff, sounds like you have found some good water to fish. Best of luck for the season ahead and drop us a PM if you make it down for an evening on WW.

Default Whitewater

Hi, I'm a new member of the forum and just wondered how best to access fly fishing on the Whitewater. I presume there is a waiting list to join? Any other ideas for fishing in the Reading/Basingstoke area would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
