Default not a good omen

well i had my first day on the kelvin yesterday and although i knew it would be hard going i thought i would have taken at least on e or two fish , while fishing with a gold head on the point and a couple of spider patterns as i always start my season on the river off with i was hopeful ,yet my day ended in a blank which I'm hoping is not an omen for the season to come , but with the hard winter and the temp still on the low side I'm now thinking it will be April before their is any real change in the trout in the river.

Another blank from the Rothay between Grasmere and Rydal this morning, and to think it punched out a 2-pounder the same time last year...

yes i left the water wondering why i had not took that small box of woolly buggers!!!,, as I'm sure they pulled a few early last season for me ,,and one or two of my biggest fish from the Kelvin too, so i might just give it another go on Thursday or Friday and see what i can find in some of the deeper pockets of water where the fish will no doubt be at the moment as the kelvin is also on its bones.

i wish you guys a better day on your next outing ,and in the meantime get some more flys tied , and even try out a few woolly buggers too .

lets hope the weather picks up in the next week or so.
