Default Peacock at Rowsley new booking system?

I'm probably being obtuse but can anyone help?

Hitherto, you have phoned the Peacock, booked your rod, paid your money and wandered off and found a beat with few, if any anglers on it.

Now it's done on line..or can be and there is reference to rod availabilty in what appear to be beats numbered 1-12 but I cannot find any reference to what or where these are. There is a link that says "more info", click on it for, say, Rod 1...a new window opens with the earth shattering statement "Rod 1", nothing else.

Does this mean that you are restricted to a specific beat?

Hi Roy, My reading of the website is that they've cribbed the web software they use for booking rooms at the hotel and just applied it to the rod bookings. I don't think a rod is specific to a beat. I'm sure Warren will enlighten us.

Thanks for bringing this up. Authur has it; he generally does. None of the river is beated, anglers who are able to obtain a rod for any given day can go where ever they like on the river and as many times as they please. I am often suprised how the daily quota tend to bunch together, leaving large parts unfished but thats another story and besides, they pay their money, they takes their choice. Warren who?! I mean really!!

With the lengthening days and more warmth in the sun it looks as if you will, in fact, be able to get out more.
