Hi

and thanks for the reply. Its obviously somewhere people are not fishing or are keeping quite about.

Is it free fishing?

Where was good to park?

Was you able to wade alot of distance from the car?

Thank you

john

I was just reading Nelson66's blog and came across a link to this story from June:

BBC News - Inquiry as hundreds of fish die in River Tame

Anyone know how the river is?

I used to fish the Goyt at Vernon Park, Stockport, on the Stockport Fed card, Never caught any trout, but plenty of chub and other coarse fish. Fished it at Brabyns Park for grayling once, too - I lost one, my mate caught a few. This was 20 years ago, though.

Plenty of barbel in the Goyt now, I believe.

It's slightly annoying to think how much the fishing in the Tameside area has improved since I moved down South!

Default River Tame

Bad Caster, apologies for the time taken to reply. Fishing from Mossley upstream was controlled by a small club based in Greenfield called Border Angling & Naturalist (including the stretch shown in Woz's photos).I have tried to find a number for them but am struggling..a call to a local angling shop should do the trick. To be honest, whilst I was a member I was never asked for my licence, I seem to recall there was a note in the book about day tickets being available. The river is never too far from the road so parking in my experience was always o.k and safe. Give it a try and let me know how you get on. Regards,Steve.
