Has anyone driven over or fished the test lately? how much water is n the river? Any info on Longparish stretch would be useful.

I fished Lord Camdens Wherwell stretch at the weekend and the River was gin clear and full. Even after the heavy rain we had last week, water was beautifully clear. Although the grayling were very shy and easily spooked, generally difficult fishing conditions.

A bit of colour in the water would have helped me last week, and some cloud cover too! I struggled to catch a few grayling and a brown on a tiny size 20-weighted pink shrimpy thing. Tightly shoaled and they spook at the slightest movement, it was hand and knees stuff!

I think the forecast heavy rain will give plenty of cloud cover and a bit of colour too.
