Default River Kent Cumbria

Hi all, is there anyone out there that has fished the River Kent for Sea Trout or Brown Trout in recent seasons. If so, how's it been fishing? I know it fishes ok for Salmon when there's water, but not heard too much about the trouting.
Thanks David

Haven't fished it for years but last had a go just north of the town of Kendal in a park by an industrial area. Had more problems with being checked for permits and licences that I gave up (had everything!). I understand however that the best areas for trout are north of there where the river is a stream.

David, every year I mean to fish the Kent, but never seem to get round to it.
Perhaps we should make an effort this year.

Sounds like a good idea steven, we'll have to arrange something next season. I have'nt fished it in the last few years, i fished it a lot in the past for salmon and sea trout. I let my membership go as i've have had a rod on the eden at Cargo for the last few years. Since i have got back into trouting i thought i would give the kent a go. I work in Kendal and are in the process of moving to Kendal, so an ideal oppertunity to get to know it again.

I was there today David, shopping with mrs t.
The Morrisons store in Penrith burnt down as you probably already know, and Morrisons are running a free coach to the Kendal store, so we had a ride out.
Funny how you notice the scenery more when you aren't driving!!!
Anyway it was cold and miserable, and my feet are sore, but the river looked good, we'll give it a go next season.
