I fished a different (downstream) stretch of the Coln on Saturday. The water's very low and strangely cloudy but there were a lot of fish about - mostly in deep holes as you'd suspect.

I had 6 grayling on small nymphs fished NZ style and a nice little wild brownie on a Klink when I spotted a rise.

All the fish came from a fastish shallow run.

I don't know the Bull water but I'd have thought it can't be a lot different.

Hope this helps.

CFF water at Whelford/Dudgrove.

Not on day ticket, I'm afraid.

But not that far from the Bull.

Am also a member of CFF but took my father to the fairford stretch as felt more confident with him catching a few for his first river trip.

We only fished for half a day but had success and got my father his first river caught trout and a few grayling, between us had around 20 ish fish for a few hrs using ptn and shrimp patterns.

River was very low though.
