Never fished it but if your in St Andrews then how about the Eden? Hear plenty about it - broon troots, sea troot and a backend run of Salmon. No idea about where to get the permits etc but expect you'll bet a response from someone on here, or check the fish tay web site.

Hi kev,

There are few rivers in Fife worth fishing, but these two are. All details are on this link. I have no recent experience, but the river eden was where I learned my night time sea trout fishing as a boy. It was great then but I've no idea how it fishes now.
