Hi Kev,

Not heard anything!

Put this post on the "River Usk Thread" on this forum! Maybe someone has heard or knows about it?

Hundreds of fish dead in stream

An investigation has been launched after hundreds of "dead and distressed" fish were discovered in a stream.

The fish, mainly trout, were found at the mouth of Afon Tarrell near Brecon, which is a tributary of the River Usk.

Environment Agency Wales visited the scene after receiving calls from the public, and it said it was unclear if it was pollution or natural causes.

Default 'Tarell'

If the pollution was only at the Tarell river mouth - the BBC's 'Tarrell' is incorrect - then the finger of suspicion would point at Brecon Livestock Market, if only due to previous form.

"Council cautioned over river pollution
1/6/2001

Three separate pollution incidents of the Afon Tarell at Brecon have resulted in Powys County Council accepting a formal caution from Environment Agency Wales.

The incidents involved discharges of effluent from the Brecon Livestock Market site on 5th April, 9th May and 14th June 2000"

Is the livestock market by the I think they said "business park", it was a stretch of approx 800yards where the fish were found.
On the radio the EA said they didn't know if it has afected the main river.
Nothing on the tv news and nothing on the EA web site, should be more news tomorrow.

Map/photo centered on the mart attached. Usk to the north and Tarell (zoom in) to the south.

Thank goodness you said "business park" and not the Industrial Estate, where Airflo have their facility to the south of the Tarell. It is getting lost so many times whilst looking for them that made the area so familiar to me.
