Default Can you help? Coming Soon... Monnow Auction 2009

Sorry for the double posting... but I wanted to bring this one to the attention of as many folk as possible.

For the past couple of years, FFF have been gracious enough to support the Monnow FIsheries Association Annual Auction, enabling us to reach an online audience and raise considerable sums of money for project work on the Monnow and her tribs.

For those of you who dont know what the MFA does, you can get a brief insight here: www.monnow.org

For those of you who are familiar with our work, you will know the quality of what we are achieving, and hopefully you will have enjoyed some great fishing.

I am hoping that the auction will run live on this forum, similar to the way that Grommit's Grace House Appeal did, and in the same fashion that the 2007 Monnow auction took place.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Last year, this forum helped us raise just over £3600 pounds, an incredible sum; especially when you think that with a gearing ratio of nearly 1:10, that this was turned into the best part of £30k's worth of project work. Last year, members of this forum donated some great lots, from formal/informal guided days fishing, through frit=ghtening alcoholic drinks, to collections of beautifully tied flies... and then they bid generously for some super lots. At the moment, all I am doing is giving the forum a heads-up... and of course a shameless blag... if you would like to support the work of the Monnow FIsheries Association and help us beat last years total that would be great! I am currently helping to collate lots for the auction, so if you have anything that you would like to donate, then I would love to hear from you. You can drop me a pm if you like, or just add something to this thread.

The auction itself will not go live until late September, but I am trying my best to be organised this year

Ok, this may be shameless blagging, but the cause is a good one.
Best Wishes
Dave

what a great venue, do you have any prices for Day C&R
I used to take my children to the Forest of Dean, when they where young, on holiday, we went for about 4 years CSMA club...
And we loved the area.

Are the items you require fishing related only, I dont have anything as I've only just started fly fishing a few weeks ago.

I am sure donations of strong drink would go well, sure I had some plum brandy of the auction which slipped down extremely pleasantly.

And I'll be bidding on the day so that I can catch some more wild brown's similar or better that this one from the other evening.
