Question River Lugg water level

A trip to the Lugg for me is a full day commitment. Considering all the rain we've had recently I don't want to make the trip to find the river blown out. Do any forum readers know what heights on the gauge at Byton still allow reasonable fishing? I know the gauge doesn't tell me anything about water clarity, but at least it might save a wasted trip. It's showing 1'6" this morning and the page says the summer flow level is 6" ...

Many thanks
D.
