Default River Clyde - quarry application submitted

Well, it has eventually happened - SLR consultants have submitted the application to quarry 5 million tonne of sand and gravel at Overburns Farm, Lamington, on behalf of Paterson's of Greenoakhill. As yet, the application has still to be registered.

If you are mindful to object to what I believe to be a potential environmental, ecological and economic disaster, please visit our community action group website, for information of how to object and where to send your objection.

You will find us at www.crag.uk.com. Lamington Angling Improvement Association is working within this cross-interest action group to help protect the river from this terrible threat.

Please alert all anglers and interested parties who might also be mindful to object.

The River Clyde needs you!!!!

thank you,

Maggie Martin (Sec) Lamington & District Angling Improvement Association.

Bad news, but thanks Maggie. I'll spread the word on the Wild Fishing Forum.

Default the crown will frown

as long as there is salmon running the clyde then i think thats the biggest obstacle the application will have to encounter as tom said it would be disasterous to the clyde fishing market the death of the clyde is a nightmare and i hope it is a dream and the clyde will be protected stand up for your river
