Default Monnow Fisheries Association - Auction

Can I please draw your attention to the postal auction in supoort of the Monnow Fisheries Association which has already done such sterling work on the catchment but needs help to do more.

Those of you who have had the great good fortune to fish the Monnow and the many more who aspire to fish in God's own country will find plenty of opportunities to bag themselves some exclusive and wonderful fishing on the Monnow. There are also many other lots including days on the famous and exclusive Wilton Club water on the Wylye, Derbyshire Wye, Usk and Teifi as well as some non-fishing lots.

Follow this link and please be generous:

It looks a lovely list. Some of the beats may well be appearing on our social next year

Having looked through the auction catalogue, I'm just wondering if bidding is open to all or just members of the MFA? If it's open to all comers then I reckon I've still got time to get a couple of last minute bids in via email!

Go for it Tony. Open to all!!

Looking forward to tonights bash, should catch up with "Mr Despondent" and Cranefly - I expect he'll be tanned, resplendently well oiled and supple after his lengthy stay in the fleshpots of moistest Turkey - will have to keep an appropriate distance, he may have picked up some funny habits from the locals

We had a very successfull auction, which followed a very good AGM with lots of active discussion on the future.

TonyJ, you did go far enough on several lots, thanks. No doubt they will be in touch with you shortly on the exact details. There were a number of other bidders from afar (as it were) and some of those were succesful as well.

In all about £1500 was raised for the benefit of the river.

Excellent news! I look forward to finding out what fishing I may have lined up for next season.

Can anyone give a brief summary of what was discussed for those of us who couldn't attend?

Cheers,

Tony
