Thumbs up first time on the clyde

Had my first go at the clyde at biggar today, thanks to an invite from mark (buzz).

I owe him a big thanks for the lift there, for the help and advice. He even insisted on paying for my day ticket, what a gentleman! He made sure I understood I was paying for it next time though

We got down to the river at noon, the weather was all over the place, swurling winds, patchy cloud cover and the odd shower here and there. The river was up but the fish were definately feeding- I don't blame them, there were plenty of good sized olives coming off the water.

Within the first half hour mark hooked a cracking wee brownie, and after 3 missed takes (shocking ino ) I was soon to follow with another wee un'. There stunning fish from the clyde, there flanks peppered with small black spots over a buttery bronze background.

The wind made casting annoyingly difficult, and the rain settled in for a good hour or so, putting the fish down. Although the weather did eventually give us a chance we didn't manage to connect to any more fish unfortunately, and we both dropped a couple of takes.

all too soon it was time for me to head home for the bus. Mark's got a couple of photo's I think

tough day but well worth it and great company, cheers mark!

That river is seriously lacking in trees on the back cast Mark.
I know how you love trees behind you.
It's a big river, bigger than the Eden ?
