Smile River Ribble success...today...finally

Today, on the River Ribble...success at last.

I have had 3 attemps at River fishing and today I finally caught my first (5 actually) trout in a fast flowing river.

I must thank FRANK (a forum member) for giving me lots of tips last week (whilst fishing the River Usk) and donating a klinkhammer fly which I used today as an indicator with a nymph on the end. A local chap called Ian pointed me in the right direction (so thanks to him too).

Well the first 3 where on the nymph, but then they started rising...and whohooo I caught my first trout on a dry fly.

So took off the nymph and put on something that resembled the hatch and I caught another on a dry. Joy Joy Joy.

All the trout were small, but who cares, the sun was shining and everything was perfect.

Well done banu m8.

I also fished Big Ribble yesterday. Fish were rising well most of the day even though conditions were v bright - you did well on such a cloudless day, and very well to get so many.

Were you on a club stretch or day ticket? (EA/Mitton?)

My only fish was a nice brown, also on a Klink.
Massive hatch of Alder fly and what looked like shrmip or some kind of water lice in large no's that kept clinging to my leader and flies.

It was the Mitton beat. For £5 pounds an absolute bargain.

Well done Banu, a great feeling to catch the first on a dry, I always think.
Heres to many more.
