Default River Lugg

Looking for a club or association with a decent stretch of the Lugg. It's a few miles further away from me than the Teme which I fish regularly, but I do struggle a bit with the steep banks and heavily wooded areas and having fished the Lypole water (W&U), feel that the Lugg is more suitable. More trout present as well. Anyone know who controls the Mortimers Cross stretch? W&U only have access for winter grayling. Any info welcome. ATB, Alan.

PM Farmer, he will have a detailed knowledge of the ownerships and any clubs.

Oakedge. Hope you finally got my p.m.
The Mortimer Cross water is very kindly lent to the Lugg and Arrow Fisheries Association for fund raising by the sale of passport tickets through WUF for Grayling fishing only. It has been on this arrangement for 2 years and has, I think, been put forward for one more year only. Otherwise the water is used exclusively by the Midland Fly Fishers. I believe there is quite a long waiting list to get into this.
The Gamefishers have water on the Lugg above Presteigne and the Pheasant Tail fly fishers have a long stretch just above Lyepole ( below Presteigne). I think both clubs have vacancies at the moment. Otherwise the only other easy access are the WUF Passport waters.

Thanks Farmer, I did see the mail. Pheasant Tail water is a bit further than I want and is a bit too expensive. Midland FF water at Mortimers would be ideal but that sounds as though it may be expensive too, even if you can get a membership. Many thanks for your trouble anyway. ATB, Alan.
