Spent 2 days there last summer, will be going back soon I think, would like a day or 2 on the Salmon.
I managed 65 fish on dries in 2 hour shifts with very long lunch breaks ( in the pub ) stayed at the 3 salmons, food is some of the best I have eaten.

Hi Lewis,

How did you rupture your achilles tendon? Was it running or some other sort of athletic activity? Hope it mends soon!!

I also have a passion for the River Usk ( Avon Wysg) I was there this morning; she's up several feet, and coloured brown!

I love the photos Lewis keep-em-coming!!

Default Gin clear

Hi Mostyn
I knackered the achilles playing veteran's rugby (silly old fool) so I don't expect too much sympathy!
When I look at the W&UF webcam on the Usk I like to see this...........

Gin clear...it makes for a real challenge with the wild fish.
Cheers

Hi All,
I've just returned from a visit to the Mardy stretch, on the River Usk!
The river level was up several feet, running off a little after yesterday's heavy rain; but really coloured, something a-kin-to the river running through > Willy Wonka's chocolate factory! - No point in fishing then? But, stupid is as stupid does; and me being D'oh Brained! - I had to give it a try, and as I said, a complete waste of time!

This is how the Avon Wysg, looked this morning!

If we dont get any-more rain between today and Saturday? then the week-end fishing should be OK!

Hi Numptyone!
Although I'm sure your not!

Anyhow, I'm not sure what your after? Salmon, Sewin, Wild Brown Trout? There are so many, very good places to fish, on the Usk & Wye. I think you should get yourself a WUF, passport booklet! It's free! - You can also telephone them on : 01982 551 520. There are listed places for accommodation within the passport! And I'm sure there are a few guys on here who will get you all the information you need! - I will also enquire about accommodation, and some beats with day ticket, availability!

Hope this information helps!

Let us know how you get on with the WUF ??

Mostyn
