Default important announcements river kelvin

this is a message i was given today by the head ballif on the river Davie Black im sure was his name.

i have been told if anyone approaches you with a small blue laminated card stating they are an authorized bailiff ,it is a bogus card which was issued by Dougie Brown ,who is no longer a member of the board with the authority to be giving these out.

I have also been informed to let certain membership holders that if you were issued a ticket by Dougie Brown that it is not a valid ticket and that you need to approach the secretary to discuss this matter as a new permit will need to be purchased, as all the permits are numbered and the ones given out by Dougie are noted and as said are not valid ,so i hope all people can get this sorted out..

The sea pool is also a part of the club water,, and is covered by the permit issued ,so please dot think that you can fish this area without a permit !!as you cant ! and will find yourself in bother with the authorities, which i cant believe anyone would wish for the sake of £20.00 for employed or £10.00 for unemployed, so their is no excuse is their guys.

The head bailiff is called Davy Scobie - I will be putting his and the other bailiffs pictures on the official site within the next few days.

We are trying to get the cards off the chancers just now - new cards are being printed - examples of the old unofficial cards will be shown.

The fact that people think the Sea Pool is not covered by any permit is laughable. Personally, I think people should be banned from fishing there - it should be a sanctuary for the fish rather than just an easy place to catch the fish that congregate there.

i would gladly give up the pool if it was going to give the fish a sanctuary before their drive upstream ,but i just cant see it happening ,can you ,you could suggest no fishing in the weir pool but yet again i have many friends who like to fish here ,and its just going to have allot of resistance, but rules new and old are rules ..

I was asked by Davie Scobbie today to show up at the police meeting tomorrow , to take some pics of the bailiffs etc!! but if you are going to be doing it ,i may turn up for my own pics and story for my web page .
it is really good to see things happening and I'm fully behind all that you and the board think will help move the river ahead..

keep up the great work mate.

Derek.

No need Derek - as I am organising the official website and also have ran the informal site for several years the chair asked me last week to attend and take pictures.

Still, turn up and snap away - your site could do with the content
If you ever need advice ask!

Any proposal to ban fishing at the weir pool would meet with harsh resistance - which is a shame really as the river needs those fish to get into the system!

thats it mate you make me feel inferior over a web site dont forget you have had many more years practice my friend

i am sure the more sites their are the better anyway ,,.
i will probably attend today , but that will depend on the wife and how the kids are ,,you know responsibility!!! but if i do attend it will be for the sheer interest in whats happening with the river .

anyway keep up the great content on your site and also the great work you and others are doing with regards to the river .

the hard work you guys are doing is appreciated by your fellow anglers..

I made many mistakes when I started my blog - they key was to consistently write content that I thought would be fun to read myself - it took around 5 years to get a decent enough community together to even think about a forum - when I did I received over 100 members within the first few days - and that was with a lot of hard work.
Do not get me wrong - it has been a hard and long process - in the beginning you must right content every day with absolutely no return - only right for yourself!

Speak soon!
